If you are somebody who loves cooking outdoors, then investing in a high quality grill is a must!
While there are plenty of budget gas grills that can do the job, if grilling is something that you love, then you might find yourself on the search for something fancier.
If this is the case, then you are in the right place.
While high-end grills tend to be more expensive, they often justify the price tag with superior construction material, premium features, and better performance.
We've created this guide to highlight some of the top brands and products on the market when it comes to the high-end tier of gas grills.
First up, we have the Alfresco ALXE 42-inch built-in gas grill with rotisserie (ALXE-42-NG/LP). Note this grill is also offered in a 30-inch, 36-inch, and 56-inch size.
There is no denying that this grill is on the pricier side, but it is definitely worth it once you see all the different features that this grill has.
It comes standard with premium features such as a rear infrared burner, motorized rotisserie kit, interior grill lights, and lit burner knobs.
There are so many great things about this grill, but let’s start with the integrated smoking system.
When you are grilling food, it is normal to want that smoky flavor, and this is achieved by smoking the food using wood chips. It even has an in-built integrated smoking system with burner and drawer to help you achieve that smoky flavor.
Not many grills offer the ability to do this, but this Alfresco model does.
Alfresco ALXE grills can effortlessly be lit using the user-friendly, push button ignition system.
The grill has 3 powerful burners that heat a 770 square inch grilling area, with the option to replace one of the traditional burners with an infrared burner.
This grill really is top of the range and is quite aesthetically pleasing.
Next up we have the Lynx Professional series. All Lynx Professional grills come with a rotisserie kit, rear infrared burner, interior grill lights, and blue LED lit burner knobs.
Size-wise, they're available in 30-inch, 36-inch, 42-inch, and 54-inch configurations. They are also offered in both freestanding or built-in form.
This is another incredibly slick and stylish grill that is packed with wonderful features.
So, let’s dive right in and take a look at what some of these features are.
First and foremost, our favorite thing about this grill is that it is incredibly precise.
This is thanks to the fact that this grill not only has ceramic burners but infrared burners too.
With 2 ceramic burners and 1 infrared burner, this grill is able to provide up to 73,000 BTU which is incredibly impressive. Note, it's possible to have the grill outfitted with all ceramic or all infrared burners as well.
Something else that is great about this grill is that it is great for slow cooking.
It comes with a rotisserie which is internally powered, ensuring that you can get a nice and even finish when you are cooking something low and slow.
All in all, it is an excellent grill, and certainly worth considering if you are thinking of buying.
This next grill is a more price friendly option than some of the others that we have looked at so far, yet still has some of the nice features you love to see on a high end grill.
The Artisan Professional series is an excellent choice if you want a powerful grill that's made in the USA and comes with some nice features.
This grill has around 620 square inches of grilling space, and this entire area will be kept at a steady temperature, thanks to the grill’s three 20,000 BTU burners.
If you are happy to spend a little extra, you can upgrade the burners to infra-red burners to make your grill even more consistent.
Just like the other models that we have looked at so far, this grill is available in both propane and natural gas models.
No matter which type of gas you choose, you will be able to achieve top-quality authentic steakhouse results with this grill, so it is definitely worth thinking about.
Alternatively, you should consider the Fire Magic E790i Echelon Diamond 36-inch built-in gas grill.
There is something about this grill that is just incredibly slick, and this fancy design doesn’t stop at just the appearance of this grill.
If you want a grill that is guaranteed to last for many years, then this is definitely a good choice.
This model is built with incredibly durable and heavy-duty materials which are joined together in the construction process.
The use of these materials, and the construction process itself guarantees that this grill will last if you look after it properly.
In addition to this, this grill is packed with wonderful features, including 4 burners, a massive 1,080 square inches of cooking space, and a simple electronic ignition system.
This grill really is out of the world, so if you want something really fancy, this is definitely the model to check out.
The TEC Sterling Patio 3FR 44-inch infrared gas grill on stainless steel cabinet is a little different to the other grills we have looked at so far because it comes with a cabinet.
This means that this grill is much bigger than the others that we have looked at, due to this additional storage.
The best thing about this grill is that it is designed to guarantee even temperature throughout its 592 square inch cooking area.
The use of multiple burners promises even temperatures across the grill, without any hot or cold spots appearing while you cook.
In addition to this, you can also cook in multiple ways using this grill, including smoking and searing.
One of our favorite things about this grill is that it is made here in the USA.
TEC Grills are hand-crafted in South Carolina, so you will be supporting a top-quality US business if you purchase this grill.
That combined with all the grill’s wonderful features is enough to tell you that it is a good idea to purchase this grill.
We’ve already spoken about one Alfresco model in this guide, and that really is a testament to how great this brand is.
So, let’s take a look at the Alfresco ALXE 56-inch Gas Grill and Side Burner on Refrigerated Base.
Firstly, we have to acknowledge the high price point of this grill because it is considerably higher than the others we have looked at.
However, you do get a lot of features in this price, including a refrigerated base to the grill and multiple cooking areas.
These cooking areas are heated using a 5-way heat distribution system which makes the grill 100% effective.
This US-built grill also allows for incredible precision throughout.
It has multiple LED lights that allow you to see clearly what you are doing when you are cooking.
It also comes with precise grill knobs that allow you to set the grill to specific temperatures.
This grill is expensive, but if you have the money, it is definitely worth it.
Finally, we have the Mont Alpi 805 Deluxe BBQ Grill Island.
This is another large grill, just like the Alfresco model that we have just looked at.
So, if you want to invest your money into a grill that is a real showstopper, this is a great choice.
You have a number of options when it comes to this grill, as you can upgrade to a model that includes a fridge, a model that has a beverage center, and a model that has both.
But even if you choose the model without either, this is still a large grill. So you are definitely getting your money’s worth when it comes to size.
It also comes on wheels so it is easy to move around.
To power this large grill, there are 6 burners which promise an even temperature across the entire grill. But that isn’t our favorite thing about this grill.
Easily our favorite thing about this grill is the fact that it is both gas and propane ready, so you can use whichever is most convenient for you.
It is an excellent grill all round, and definitely one to consider.
The gas grills that we have just looked at are some of the best high end, luxury options on the market.
But, these grills are expensive, so it is understandable that you will want to be sure before you buy.
With that in mind, we’ve put together this little buyer’s guide to help you know what to look for in a luxury gas grill.
When you are looking at different types of gas grills to purchase, you will notice the acronym “BTU” being used regularly.
BTU is a measurement used by grill manufacturers for gas usage and heat.
It can be very easy to be swayed by the BTU measurement, but it is worth knowing that this measurement is fairly outdated.
The BTU measurement is calculated using per hour measurements, and measures how much fuel the grill uses, rather than the temperature levels.
So, it is possible for this measurement to be swayed by the size of a grill, even if the grill itself doesn’t actually reach high temperatures.
Traditionally, a lot of people use the BTU measurement to help them decide what grill to buy.
Even if they are focused on temperature rather than gas usage.
So, as well as looking at the BTU measurement, we would also recommend looking at the maximum temperature output as this will give you a better idea of how hot your grill will get.
Something else that you also need to consider is the material that the grill is made of.
There are a number of different materials that might be used to create a grill including cast iron, cast aluminum, nickel-plated steel, and stainless steel.
All of these different materials have their drawbacks and advantages, but our go-to choices will always be stainless steel or aluminum.
Stainless steel will always be our first choice. Stainless steel is protected against corrosion and it is easy to clean.
Food doesn’t tend to stick to stainless steel, and it generally has an even temperature throughout the grill. The same applies to aluminum.
There are some people who will swear by cast iron grills, and there is no denying that these grills are great.
However, cast iron grills tend to damage easily, so if you are investing in an expensive, luxury grill, we would recommend going for a material that is a little more durable.
Finally, you need to consider the number of burners that the grill has.
Now-a-days, most grills tend to have at least 2 burners, but most luxury grills will have more than that.
Two burners is enough to heat your grill sufficiently, but if you want a larger cooking area, then you will want a grill with at least three burners.
This will provide a more consistent temperature to your grill, and it will allow you to cook food slowly if you wish.
So, if you are investing in a luxury gas grill, we would recommend opting for one with 3 or more burners.
There are lots of different companies that produce gas grills, but only a few that produce high-end, luxury grills.
These companies are mainly the manufacturers that we have already spoken about in this guide.
So, if you want a top of the range grill, you should consider purchasing one from Alfresco, Lynx, Artisan, Fire Magic, Mont Alpi, or TEC.
All of these manufacturers produce grills that are made with high quality materials, and are built to last with additional features that standard grills do not have.
So, if you want a top of the range grill, check out one of these manufacturers.
A standard gas grill will usually last the average American for around 3 years.
If you fail to look after your grill, then it could end up needing replacing much sooner.
In contrast, if you regularly do repairs to your grill, and also clean it regularly, then you could extend its lifespan. But most standard grills last around 3 years.
In contrast, a high-end grill could last you for up to 15 years if you look after it well.
Luxury grills are designed to last for much longer, but they will only do this if you clean them regularly, and maintain them.
So, the only way to make your grill last is to look after it.
A lot of grills do not come with a grill cover included. This is mainly because you do not need to cover your grill.
Your grill will not break if you leave it uncovered. However, in the long run it is best to keep your grill covered.
While your grill will not break immediately when it is left uncovered, over long periods of time your grill could become damaged.
Everyday wear and tear could significantly reduce the life expectancy of your grill.
So it is best to keep it covered when you aren’t using it if you want your grill to function for a long time.
In order to ensure that your grill lasts, it is important that you clean it regularly.
Regular maintenance is the only way to ensure that your grill will last for the number of years that it is supposed to.
A huge part of this maintenance is cleaning your grill, and we would recommend that you do this every time that you use it.
Once you have finished cooking on your grill, simply give it a wipe down. If you do this while the grill is still warm, then it will be even easier to clean.
As well as wiping your grill down every time that you use it, you should occasionally give it a deeper clean.
But, most of the time, a simple wipe down will be good enough to remove any food particles, and keep your grill healthy.
As we have said, one of the best ways to prolong the lifespan of your grill is to keep it covered.
Most grills won’t come with a cover, but a cover really can make a huge difference to the lifespan of your grill.
As will regular cleaning to prevent the build up of food particles.
In addition to this, you can extend the life of your gas grill by ensuring that you make any necessary repairs promptly.
High-end gas grills are built to last for long periods, but taking these extra steps on top will ensure that your luxury gas grill will last for years to come.
